From lab research to prototype development and real-world use, Algae Deep Tech takes its next step with support from TED Fund's Go-to-Market program, expanding market opportunities for MICROCAP, an indoor air quality innovation powered by algae biotechnology.

Algae Deep Tech Co., Ltd. has received THB 1.8 million in funding from the Technology and Innovation-based Enterprise Development Fund (TED Fund) under the Go-to-Market Support for Startup Projects program (SfS: Go-to-Market) in September 2026. The funding will support MICROCAP's entry into the market and its commercial development.

This support is another important step for the company in connecting research, technology, and user needs. The focus is on developing products, services, and business partnerships for the next stage of growth.

MICROCAP

Algae Biotechnology

for Indoor Air Quality

MICROCAP uses microalgae to absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen through photosynthesis. It combines engineering design, sensor systems, and digital technology for performance monitoring.

Users can track air quality data and system performance through a dashboard. This data supports performance evaluation and system maintenance at each installation site.

The team has already tested MICROCAP in real-world settings, collecting operational data and user feedback to improve the product and service model to better fit market needs.

What the Go-to-Market Funding Will Support

The project plan focuses on developing MICROCAP while building business readiness in three key areas.

Making products and services customer-ready

Improve the unit, sensor system, and dashboard, and prepare installation and maintenance manuals. Develop sales, rental, and maintenance service models that suit different use cases.

Expanding pilot sites and learning from real-world use

Plan installations at target customer sites and collect performance data and user feedback to build case studies and continue improving the product.

Building awareness and business partnerships

Run product demonstrations, share information through online channels, and reach corporate customers. Develop partnerships that can support installation, service, and market expansion.

Target users include indoor spaces such as offices, schools, healthcare facilities, condominiums, and public spaces, as well as consumers interested in air quality and environmental technology.

Creating Opportunities

for Thai Research to Grow in the Market

The MICROCAP project falls under the Technology Spin-Offs track, which aims to turn research, technology, and knowledge from academic institutions into businesses and commercial applications. For Algae Deep Tech, TED Fund's support adds resources to develop the business alongside the technology, from understanding customers and designing services to building support systems after installation. These are key parts of moving a product from the lab to the market on a lasting basis.

Algae Deep Tech thanks TED Fund for its support, as well as the research team, co-developers, partners, and users who have contributed to the development of MICROCAP. The company will continue to turn algae biotechnology into products and services that meet real-world needs and create growth opportunities for Thai innovation. Organizations and partners interested in MICROCAP can contact Algae Deep Tech for product information and collaboration opportunities.

With this funding, we aim to accelerate innovation, expand our reach, and continue building a greener, healthier future—powered by science and inspired by nature.
